He is the third child of Veerabhadrayya and Basavamma of Peerapur a village in Muddebihal taluka of Bijapur District. He was born on 04.05.1942.

Successfully completed the Mulkhi (Seventh Std) Examination in the year 1956 and during the same year became an anchorite at Shivayoga Mandira.

He got through in the examination "Kavya Teertha" of Culcatta University in the year 1961.

In the year 1962 he was declared as successor to Annadaneshwar Samsthan Math Mundargi and went to Banaras University to pursue higher studies.

He obtained Hindi 'Sahitya Visharada' and 'Sahitya visharada’  ‘sahitya ratna’ degrees from Allahabad University.

He got the degree ‘Vedanta shastri’ in First class from Banaras University in the year of 1966.

He won the ‘pioneering Writer’ award from Banaras University and Ram krishnashrama kasha in the year 1965.

He assumed the power of shri Matha on 31.01.1969 and became the president of shri jagadguru annadaneshwara vidya samitha and shri jagadguru annadaneshwara vidyavardak sangha.
